Forget-Me-Not Friday - Yasmine

7 1/2 years old...

She's looking so grown up...

Sitting like a little lady on that couch...

Wistful blue eyes that hardly dare to hope...

That her turn will ever come...

To have her very own family.

Almost too much to ask...

When you're 7 years old...

And most people want babies...

Or little kids!

Is there yet hope for me?

I must sit straight and proper so they'll know I'm a big girl and won't cause any trouble..

If only they'll choose me and take me home...

I'll be a big girl and help all I can!

But you'd never guess the joy and excitement that would come onto my face if only I had a family...

If only I could relax and be myself...

And know I'd be loved forever no matter what!

Maybe you'd like a glimpse of me a few years ago...

When I was still a "little" girl...

And still in ignorant bliss of the fate awaiting me!

I have a smile that will light up the room!

They say I'm a walking sunshine!

I'd like to live up to that name!

And brighten your home with my smile!

Can I be yours?

*****

Yasmine's transfer is imminent...

Indeed she likely has already been transferred...

Walking sunshine...

Transferred to the dark gloom of a mental institute...

Please help her find a family!

*****

I saw these pictures some time ago...

But had forgotten where!

I'm so glad someone pointed them out!

It was written in July 2011...

And still sweet Yasmine waits!

Let's share her sweet face and help her Mama find her!

So she won't completely waste away in the institution!

*****

Let her be your sunshine...

Whatever that may mean...

Whether it's placing her picture where you'll see it...

As a reminder to pray for her...

Or by bringing her home...

To be your very own!

Challenge donation for Laurel and Harmony!!!

The Mulligan Stew Giveaway is almost over...

The last day is March 21...

This great giveaway is raising funds to help families adopt children who are in desperate need...

Who have been deprived of sufficient food...

Deprived of love and stimulation...

Deprived to the point that they are the size of infants or very young children...

Even at age eleven or fourteen!

Below are a few of these needy children we have an opportunity to help!

Liliana - Age 11

Pam - Age 14 or 15

Teagan - Age 5

Keltan - Age 12

Imagine the difference love and nutrition will make for these children!

Families adopting these and other very needy children are featured in the giveaway...

The goal is to raise at least $2000 for each family...

AND

A challenge has been offered!

If the goal is met...

A generous donor will donate $500 each to  Laurel  and Harmony!

Laurel and Harmony are both 15 years old...

When they turn 16 they will become too old for adoption...

Their chance for a family will be gone!

Harmony is a sweet girl with down syndrome...

You can see her cute picture at the Mulligan Stew!

She needs a family before its too late!

Please share her story!

You can read more about Harmony HERE!

Laurel will be sent to a mental institution because of her physical limitations...

Laurel and Harmony - They MUST be saved!

The clock is ticking...

Time is almost up...

Two precious girls are about to lose their LAST hope for a family!

Laurel has arthrogryposis and is currently in a wheelchair...

But don't let that scare you!

She will make a great daughter...

A great citizen...

If she only gets the chance!

This lovely teen currently lives in a "good" orphanage where the children even get to go on outings...

But when she turns 16 (this AUGUST) her time will be up...

She'll be too old for adoption...

Her fate will be sealed...

She will soon be transferred to a mental institution for adults...

And whatever good things she has enjoyed in her life up to now will be over...

These mental institution are horrible!

The inmates are given insufficient care...

And have nothing to do...

Arthrogryposis is NOT a mental condition!

Laurel has great potential!

She could receive therapy that might even help her walk...

Perhaps she could go to college...

And become a teacher or a doctor...

Who knows what she would like to do...

But I'm sure a mental institution would NOT be her choice...

The sad thing is...

She has NO choice in the matter!

Her fate is sealed...

Unless she is adopted...

It is her ONLY hope!

We just CAN'T let her go to that awful place...

*****

Harmony lives in a country that will not allow public posting of her picture...

But I've seen the picture...

And she is a cute Asian girl!

UPDATE:  You can see her picture HERE! - but please don't copy it or post it anywhere!

She is 15 but looks much younger...

She has Down syndrome...

But that doesn't mean she should be hidden away and have no life!

Here is a snippet from her profile:

Currently attends middle school...

"Harmony loves learning and is attentive in class.  She completes her homework voluntarily."

I don't know what will happen to her after she ages out...

But I know a family is a MUCH better option!

*****

If there is a chance you could be the family one of these girls is waiting for...

(By the way... Laurel has over $11,000 in grant money to help her family with adoption costs!)

If not...

Please share these girls' stories far and wide to help their families find them...

Before it's forever too late!

And if you feel so led...

You can also make donations to their grant accounts by clicking on their names!

Laurel and Harmony are also included in a the great Mulligan Stew giveaway/fundraiser through March 31...

Click here to find out how you can take part - you may even win something...

There are LOTS of prizes!

But getting the kids home is the best prize of all!

And don't forget to PRAY - God still works miracles!

Can't wait to see his miracles for Laurel and Harmony!

*****

UPDATE:  Laurel is home now!!!

Sadly Harmony is no longer available for adoption because of her age...

Please pray for her!

Time Out - They DON'T deserve it!

Did you ever get in trouble when you were a young child...

And have to endure "Time Out"?

To stand in the corner or sit in a chair...

Or lie on your bed by yourself?

It seemed like hours, but really was not...

Till at last you were finally released!

Mom probably hoped you'd spend the time thinking about...

How to share with brother instead of grabbing his toy...

Or about how to say sorry to sister for pulling her hair...

How to say "Yes Mama" instead of "NO, I WON'T!"

How to say something nice instead of such naughty words!

She hoped you'd have a change of heart...

And choose to act like the sweet child she new you could be!

"Time Out" was to give you a few minutes to think...

Cool off...

And get ready to make a good choice!

Despite the unpleasant moments (that seemed like forever - but weren't!)

You probably still love your Mom!

You know she did it for your good...

It was only for a little while...

5 min. 10 min. 15 min...

And did you no real harm!

"Time Out" CAN be a good thing...

In MODERATION, to help one learn...

But did you ever think...

About the children whose time out lasts forever?

And who NEVER have "Time IN"?

No chance to share with brother...

Or give sister hugs and kisses...

No time to snuggle with Mommy..

Or ride on Daddy's shoulders?

No chance to feel that they belong...

And are loved no matter what!

Time out has lasted so SOOO long...

They've nearly lost all hope...

Of EVER being free :(

They must have done some AWFUL thing...

To have "Time Out" so long!

But no and no and NO, NO, NO!!!

This so IS NOT the case!

These precious ones are lying there...

In anguish and alone...

Because the world has done THEM wrong!

It's thought that they are worthless, "stuff"...

"Junk" NO ONE would ever want...

It's thought best to hide them far away...

And forget that they exist...

Till  finally they give up die...

And then are gone for good.

This dreadful fate NEED NOT be theirs...

If SOMEONE will but see their plight...

And cross that great ocean blue...

To set them free at last!

And gives them that "Time IN" that they are longing for!

Is that SOMEONE you?

****

This post was inspired by OLIVER!

His profile says he will soon be transferred..

And these words caught my eye...

"Oliver is nearly 5 years old and has spent his whole life cooped up in this crib."

He "will remain bedridden the rest of his life if he is not adopted."

What?

I know, I know, I've seen such words before...

But really!

His WHOLE LIFE till now...

And the REST of it too?

Forever and ever in bed?

This just CANNOT be!

Surely someone...

Somewhere...

Would love to be his Mama!

To spare him from never ending "time out"...

And give him "Time IN"...

"Time IN" for the REST of his life!!!"

Forever loved and cherished...

By the family that makes him FOREVER there own!

Please consider saving Oliver or one of his fellow sufferers...

From their fate of ENDLESS "Time Out"...

Maybe, just maybe one of them could be yours!

Or maybe you could find their Mama...

Will you try?

They're desperate!

*****

Jane wrote a beautiful post today that illustrates this point so well...

It's the difference between those doomed to"Time OUT" in "THAT ROOM"...

And her dear daughter who has "Time IN" forever!

The difference is like night and day!

Full Circle for Lyla!

You are much beloved...

First abandoned and sentenced to life as an orphan...

You were blessed to be chosen to belong to a very special family!

You would have a Mama at last!

A Papa to protect you...

Siblings to adore you!

You would be smothered with hugs and kisses...

And never be lonely again!

But alas...

You became desperately ill...

Unable to travel...

Expected to die...

Unable to go with that family who loved you :(

Your family was so heart broken!

But they had so much love to share...

They just couldn't walk away and forget!

They had to do something with the love in their hearts!

There were so many children abandoned and lonely...

Who were longing for that wonderful love!

So 2 lovely children were adopted in turn...

And were showered with love overflowing...

Because of their love for you!

But miracle of miracles!

You survived!

And now dear sweet Lyla...

The time is almost here!

But a little while longer while funds and paperwork are gathered...

Then, then you will come HOME at last!

Your family is better than your wildest dreams!

You'll be loved and snuggled...

And cherished for ever, and ever, and ever!

You've come full circle dear little Lyla!

You were found...

Then nearly lost forever...

And now at last you've been found again...

By the family that has loved you since the first time they saw your little face...

In a picture so many months ago!

Dear Lyla,

Hopefully many people will read this little letter...

So I'll hasten to let them know!

Some very loving people have organized a fundraiser especially to pay your ransom!

There are prizes too...

An I-pad, and gift cards...

But the best prize of all is getting you home at last!

They can go right here to do their part and help your dream come true!

Your ransom must be gathered quickly...

You need to go to the doctor as soon as you possibly can...

And of course start making up for all the hugs and kisses...

You've  been without so long!

Thank you for helping Lyla's dream come true!

3 for 3 for 3/21 - World Down Syndrome Day!

In honor of World Down Syndrome day...

3/21/2012

I like to share 3 children...

Who have 3 copies of chromosome 21...

In hopes that maybe...

In honor of their special day...

You could spare $3 to help them on their way to finding a family!

A family who will see their true worth...

And give them the opportunity to thrive, and blossom and grow!

The opportunity to reach the potential God gave them...

So they can show the world that that extra chromosome in no way detracts from their value...

But makes them extra special!

Sweet little Paul looks so lost without his Mama!

Jordan - See him trying to smile?
"If only you'll love me I'll blossom and grow!"

Arina - Isn't she darling!
"Why does nobody want me?"

$3 for 3 children with 3 copies of chromosome 21!
World Down Syndrome day 3/21/2012

To donate to any (or all!) of these three children just click on their names!

Three precious treasures are waiting to enrich your life with extra special joy!

Is one of them yours?
