Their Greatest Wish

Wishes...

What are wishes?

They are things one hopes will happen...

Or things one hopes to get or achieve...

Little boys may wish for a new bike...

Toy cars...

Or an I-pad...

Little girls may wish for a new doll...

Or a princess dress...

Children wish for an ice cream cone, or pizza...

But how many wish for a family of their own?

A Mom and Dad...

Grandparents...

Siblings?

For some children family is not something to wish for...

It is something they already have...

And often take for granted!

Not so with the children below...

They are waiting for something every child should have...

And never have to wish for!

A family of their very own!

*****

Gertie is 13 years old...

She is said to be smart, friendly, and outgoing...

She enjoys drawing and playing games...

And memorizes songs and poems...

But she is still waiting for a family of her own...

Where is a Mama to admire her drawings and tell her what a great job she is doing?

Where is a Papa to beam with pride as she recites a poem or sings for him?

*****

Then there is darling Lee...

Don't let his serious face fool you...

They say little Lee laughs at cartoons and when you play with him...

He is said to be very intelligent too!

This sweet 5 year-old is waiting for a family of his very own...

Let's hope his wish comes true in 2016!

*****

Zayne is 12 years old and enjoys playing with other children...

But he is hoping  for a Mom and Dad of his own...

Zayne must be adopted before he turns 14 or it will be too late according to the adoption laws in his country...

I hope he doesn't have to wait that long!

Is Zayne your son?

*****

Lovely Adelaide is 10 years old...

She recites poetry and sings songs...

She likes to help others...

And is said to be sweet, joyful, and communicative...

She would be such a delightful daughter...

When will her family find her?

*****

Sweet Crystal lives in a country that does not allow her picture to be publicly displayed...

But she is a real little girl...

With dark hair and brown eyes...

Who is waiting for a real family...

To choose her for their very own!

Interested families can see her picture by contacting Reece's Rainbow.

Click on the following link to contact Reece's Rainbow to enquire about Crystal or any of the other children in this post: Contact Page

*****

My little Micah is waiting too...

Who could resist that sweet face?

Micah is 3 years old...

I hope he does not have to grow up waiting and wishing for the love of a family...

I hope he can experience that love very soon...

Is Micah your son?

*****

Every child should have a family...

But some can only wish for one...

Would you like a treasure?

What comes to mind when you hear the word Treasure?

A bag full of golden coins?

Exotic items from King Tut's Tomb?

Heir loom china from your great, great, great grandmother?

These are certainly treasures...

But there are more valuable treasures than these!

The treasures I am thinking of are living, breathing, one of a kind treasures...

Similar in a way, yet each uniquely different!

I am thinking of little boys...

Cute little boys...

With sweet little faces...

One is sweet Bryce...

He like riding a bike and scribbling on paper...

He enjoys music and loves to play games and interact with people...

What a fun little boy and oh so sweet and cute!

Isn't he a treasure?

*****

Then there is sweet Timeus...

Just look at that smile!

He likes to be held - doesn't he look like a sweet little snuggle bug?

He enjoys music and playing with toys...

Oh what a treasure this sweet little one is!

*****

And then there's sweet Micah...

My angel tree boy...

He's close to his caregivers and gets along well with other children...

He likes music and toys too!

What a sweet darling...

He's a treasure too!

*****

Each one unique in his own special way...

Each one is valuable, and special!

Each one needs a family of his very own...

A family who'll recognize his value...

And cherish him too!

Who'll keep him safe and nourished and loved!

Who will be the family these sweet boys need?

Three special families for three little boys...

Don't you want a treasures worth more than gold or silver?

Here they are!

Boys are worth more than gold, or silver!

They are living treasures...

And they are waiting to be found...

Is one of them yours?

Angel Tree for Micah!

It's ANGEL TREE Time!

Every year in November and December Reece's Rainbow has a special fundraiser where advocates try to raise $1000 for each child on the "Tree."

Anyone who donate's $35* or more to one of the children on the tree will receive a photo Christmas ornament with the child's picture on it.

These ornaments can be used as gifts or hung on your own tree to remind you to pray for your child or share his/her story with friends.

*NOTE*  $5 of the donation goes to cover the cost of the ornament and shipping and 10% of each donation goes to help all the children by keeping the wonderful charity Reece's Rainbow going so it can continue to be a voice for these children who need the love of adoptive families!

This year I have the privilege of advocating for sweet little Micah!

Isn't he a darling?

Micah is 3 years old and lives in an orphanage in an Asian country...

His profile says he is close to his caregivers and gets along well with other children...

He loves music and playing with toys...

And his favorite toy is a ball!

Imagine if Micah had a family of his own...

A Mom and Dad to give him the love and attention he needs...

Siblings to play with...

Stories at bedtime...

Mama's soothing voice as she rocks him too sleep and sings him a lullaby!

Micah is waiting for these simple pleasures...

The money raised for his grant fund will help to cover adoption expenses for the family who chooses to adopt him...

And most important of all, through prayers and sharing his story...

Hopefully soon a family will see him and choose to make him their son!

You can help by donating (donations are tax deductible in the US!)...

Sharing this blogpost on Facebook...

Sharing his story with your friends and acquaintances...

And by praying that God will find his family...

So that soon sweet Micah will be able to live in a family of his very own...

Who will love and cherish him always!

To donate to Micah CLICK HERE to go to the Angel Tree...

Scroll down until you find Micah's Picture...

And select Buy Ornament if you want Micah's ornament...

Or just donate if you would like to donate more or less than $35 or if you already have his ornament and would like to make an additional donation.

As an incentive to donate to my boy...

If you donate $5 I will put a Reece's Rainbow child of your choice on my blog sidebar (One child for each $5)...
AND...
I will include your chosen child(ren) in a blog post!

It can be your angel tree child...

Or any other waiting child on your heart...

Or I can put the family sponsorship link with the child's picture if the child has a committed family already...

In addition I will put your chosen child/ren in a drawing for a $25 donation to the winner's grant fund!

Don't have money to donate right now?
That's OK!

You can still help by sharing this blogpost!

To enter the drawing for the $25 grant fund donation:

$5 to Micah = 3 entries to the drawing for a $25 donation for one child/family of your choice!
(And the $5 donation also entitles your child to inclusion in a blog post and a place on my blog sidebar for at least 6 months {space permitting}).

1 Share of this blog post (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) = 1 entry for the $25 donation for one child/family of your choice!

In order to have your child included please...

 LET ME KNOW WHICH CHILD(REN)

you want me include in the drawing and on my sidebar and blog post!

($5 donation to Micah per child)

And in the case of sharing the blog post which child you want entered into the drawing.

You can let me know by commenting on this blog post.
I won't publish donation amounts if you don't want me too -  just let me know.

If you don't have a child in mind for the drawing...

You can choose one by Clicking Here to visit Reece's Rainbow's waiting children.

I can't wait to see which beautiful children will be on my sidebar...

And I look forward to watching Micah's grant fund grow!

Thank you for helping Micah!

*****

While Micah is my focus these next two months...

I also want you to see 2 other sweet kids who need families!

Maxim and Evalyn

They are not on Angel Tree this year...

But I want to give them visibility by including them in Micah's blogposts...

To increase their chance of finding families too!

You can read about Maxim and Evalyn on their Reece's Rainbow profiles by clicking on their names above.

A Dream Come True!

Imagine being an orphan...

Because you have no family...

You live in a state institution...

Even if your caregivers are kind...

They are likely very busy with many other children...

So there is little time for you to get one-on-one special attention...

You wonder if you really matter to anyone...

Occasionally a family will come to adopt one of your best friends at your orphanage...

The family spends one on one time with your friend...

They bring fun toys...

They shower the him with love...

And promise him that one day soon they will get on an airplane together and take him to their home far away...

And promise him that he will have a loving home with them forever...

They have a picture book that shows your what his new home will be like...

It has pictures of his bedroom where he will sleep...

The dining room table where he will sit with his new family and eat delicious meals prepared by his very own mother...

Their are pictures of the family's backyard where he will get to play ball and ride bikes with his new brothers...

Their are pictures of each member of his new family...

Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters, and grandparents too!

When the family goes back to their hotel for the night your friend shows you his picture book...

And while you are happy for your friend you have a secret longing...

That someday soon a family will come for you too!

Soon your friend goes away with his new family and you are left behind to wait for your turn...

Often when you are sleeping you dream that the day has arrived...

Your family has come at last!

But then...

Just when you are about to get in the car to go home with them...

You wake up and realize it was just a dream...

As the years go by you begin to worry that no one will want you...

After all you are getting older and older...

And it seems like the families usually come for the younger kids...

You begin to worry about the future...

Soon it will be time to graduate from the orphanage...

And you have no idea what you will do, where you will sleep, or how you will find food...

It is a very frightening thought!

But then...

The summer when you are 15...

A mission group comes to do a program at your institution...

And there is a special Mom and daughter in the group who befriend you...

You miss them when the group goes back home...

But then...

One day you are told that this family...

This family wants to adopt YOU!!!!

Your dream is actually coming true...

You will be a loved and cherished son...

You will have parents who will love you forever...

Who will guide you as you transition to adulthood...

You will have sisters and a brother...

A home where you belong...

Soon...

They just have some paperwork to do...

They have to wait for the legal processes to be completed...

And a court to make it official...

Oh...

And money will have to be raised to pay for the legal costs and travel expenses...

But soon...

Soon the day will come...

You will be going home with a family that truly loves you, yes YOU!!!

At last you have hope for the future...

Your dreams are about to come true!

While I don't know all the thoughts in Jonathon's heart...

Having the love and security and sense of belonging that comes from having a family is a very basic need that most of us take for granted...

Many of us can hardly relate to the reality of having no one to call your own...

No place where you truly belong...

Where you are loved for who you are with no strings attached...

But Jonathon has faced this empty feeling for a very long time...

But thankfully, for Jonathon, his dream for a family is finally coming true!

He has wonderful parents who have chosen to make him their son...

They are working hard on the paperwork...

And trying to raise funds to help cover the adoption and travel costs...

So that soon (hopefully in about 6-8 weeks) they can travel to his country to complete the process to make him officially their son!

Please pray for Jonathon and the Turner family during this time...

And if you are able...

Consider making a tax deductible donation to their adoption account at Reece's rainbow...

The family is also selling T-shirts to help bring him home!
(I don't think T-shirt funds are tax deductible... but you will have a shirt to remember him by!)

Front

Back

Here is a linke to the black T-shirt  https://www.bonfirefunds.com/bring-jonathon-home
You can read more about Jonathon at this T-shirt link too!

And here is a link to the Superman T-shirt: https://www.bonfirefunds.com/jonathons-waiting
You can read more about Jonathon at this T-shirt link too!

I believe they have to sell a minimum of 10 shirts (of a particular design) in order to have the shirts made...

And they are short of that goal at this time...

So far 2 of the black "I will not leave you orphans" shirts and 3 of the superman shirts have been committed to...

Can you help?

Your prayers, shares, and loving donations...

Will help Jonathon's dream come true!

And the Turner family will be so grateful for your help and prayers!

You can visit the Turner family's Reece's Rainbow page to read about them and/or make a tax deductible donation to their adoption fund by clicking HERE!

Jonathon was featured on my blog today because his Mom won my drawing by sharing my sweet boys!

Arnold, Russ, and Sullivan are still waiting for their dream to come true...

Is one (or more!) of them your son(s)?
