Special Day - Special Girl!

I'm not sure exactly when...

I'm not sure exactly which day...

But one day this month...

Dear Janna has (or had) a Birthday!

Seven years old!

What a big girl!

If she lived in a family she might be in first or second grade...

Learning to read...

Playing dolls with a friend...

Listening to grandpa tell stories...

Her life could be happy and bright...

But she lives in an orphanage...

I wonder if she ever gets out of that bed?

Does any one ever smile at her or tell her she is important and special?

This sweet seven year old girl was born with a congenital anomaly of the brain...

What a scary sounding problem!

A problem that in her country sentenced her to an orphanage...

With the probability of transfer to an institution...

Where she will likely spend the rest of her life IN BED!

But if she only had love, encouragement, therapy, and opportunity...

She just might surprise you with what she can do and learn and be!

Who will give her a chance?

Know that you are special!

I pray that your Mama and Papa will see you soon!

That your sweet smile will capture their hearts...

That they will see beyond your bed and diagnosis...

That they will see your potential...

And give you the chance to show them what you can do...

And give you the love you've been waiting for so long!
