Such a Long, LONG time! Forget-Me-Not Friday - Emmitt

14+ years...

168+ months...

728+ weeks...

5040+ days...

120,960+ hours...

7,257,600+ minutes...

435,456,000+ seconds...

How much longer till my Mom sees my picture?

How long till my Dad knows I'm his?

Will I be here forever?

Will no one claim me?

14 years is too long...

Much MUCH too long to wait for a family!

But more dreadful than this...

I have less than 2 years...

Till it's forever too late...

Till I age out of the system...

And lose all hope for a home!

Then I'll learn what forever means...

Forever institutionalized with no hope of release...

Oh forever is MUUUUUUCCCHHHHH too long to live in this miserable place!

Please, PLEASE don't forget me...

I've waited SOOOOO long!

Will you be my family?

Will you share my face?

Will you pray for me?

Your prayers and shares make a difference!

Please don't forget me!

If a picture is worth one thousand words...

What are THREE pictures  and THREE videos worth?

(***Update Sept. 2012 - Yet another updated picture at the end of this post!***)

Especially to a darling little boy...

Who waits for a family?

I hope they're enough to show his family how precious he is!

Meet Carlton!

He is not only charming and handsome...

He is also very smart!

He's not yet 5 years old...

But does school work at a 7-8 year old level!!!!

He loves to recite poems!

Here is a short video of him saying a nursery rhyme...

The ending is so cute!

I'm not certain exactly what his physical limitations are...

But he's practicing his walking!

We even have a video showing his efforts in action!

Can you guess what this darling boy wants most of all?

He is longing and dreaming of a family of his own...

He ASKS when they will come...

And he ALMOST got his wish...

He had a family who planned to bring him home...

They even sent him gifts...

Here is a video of him opening them...

Clearly they loved him very much...

But sadly they were unable to adopt him...

So he still waits...

Even worse...

He will be TRANSFERRED before too long...

Imagine this darling, sweet, very smart boy having to endure a mental institute for life!

It just cannot be!!!!

He has to have a family out there somewhere!

Pray his Mom and Dad will see his darling pictures...

And KNOW that he is their son!

That God will open the way and he can come home soon...

And NEVER have to go to the institution!

Longing to be FOREVER loved! Teamwork Tuesday - Benji

He was born a "preemie"...

A tiny liitle one...

He's grown of course...

But he's still too young to be without a Mama!

Dear little Benji was born to an HIV drug user...

But he does NOT have HIV!

He has some delays...

But has already made great progress with regular therapy...

To the point that he was ready for regular kindergarten without special assistance!

He had retinal detachment...

But it has been treated with laser which produced good results!

He has been to at least 3 different foster homes already...

But he is still waiting for a FOREVER family :(

A family that will never leave him...

That he'll never have to say goodbye to...

A sense of constancy...

Permanency...

To know he is forever loved...

No mater what!

Are you his Mom or Dad?

If so you might like to know...

The expenses to adopt from his region are LESS than some other places...

The travel time is also LESS...

Only 4-7 days in country!

Please consider Benji!

You can read Benji's profile or donate to his adoption grant fund HERE!

Twinkles and smiles! - Teamwork Tuesday - Priscilla

A twinkle in her eyes...

And a beautiful smile!

From the look on her face...

You'd think just everything was going her way!

But NO...

Miss Priscilla is waiting in an orphanage...

Waiting for a Mama to see her smile...

Waiting to win a Papa's heart...

How has such a beauty been passed by?

Why haven't her Mom and Dad found her yet?

This sweet beauty with the sunshine smile and sparkling eyes...

Is waiting to be loved!

Waiting to bless Mom's heart with her radiant smile...

And be the pride of Daddy's life...

Where are they?

Is it possible that you or one of your friends could be her Mom or Dad?

Please share her beautiful face and help her family find her!

Heal Her Heart!

I had a different post in mind for sharing Sunday...

But  then I saw this sweet girl...

And her sad story...

And I just had to tell you about her!

This is beautiful Carissa...

Because of her premature birth she had vision problems...

She and her twin sister were placed in an orphanage together when they were newborns...

They stayed there for some time...

Then their aunt took them to live with her.

Unfortunately Carissa did not receive necessary medical care and lost what vision she had.

After staying with their aunt for 3 years the girls were placed in an orphanage again (when they were 6 years old).

At some point the girls were separated...

Because Carissa is blind she had to go to a different orphanage than her sister ...

Her sister has since been adopted....

Poor Carissa was so lonely....

She lost the one person who had been with her her whole life...

She was in shock at the drastic changes in her life and regressed significantly...

The internat staff thought she was unable to talk or move...

From her profile...

"Before going to the internat she was walking by the hand, reacted to outside world and recognised people.   Not only did she talk, but she was singing! Now she had no motivation to sing, to move, to talk.  The girl refused food.  During four months in internat she literally become a skeleton."

From a happy, singing girl to a SKELETON!

Too heartbroken and depressed to eat!

Poor, poor child!

Carissa has since been taken to a city for medical help and has improved to the point of sitting up and eating some...

But she cannot walk because of weakness...

Sweet Carissa...

Desperately needs a family to love her...

To make her their own...

To heal her broken heart...

And restore her joy...

So she will have the heart to sing again!

Please pray for Carissa and share her story!

Update!

Doesn't she look lonely?

She is now able to have her own grant fund at Reece's Rainbow!
