A Christmas Miracle for Evelyn

Where is the sparkle?

There should be a light and a sparkle...

In the eyes of each little boy!

He should have days filled with laughter and love...

And a home of his very own...

A place where he is cherished and loved...

By a Mom and Dad of his own!

A chance to play trucks with his brother...

And friends to play hide-and-go-seek!

A time to fly kites with Daddy...

And build sandcastles at the beach!

A chance to go to school and learn...

About the great big world around him...

And how he can play his part!

Perhaps he could become a teacher...

And have the joy of watching young minds learn!

Or perhaps he could become a lawyer...

And plead the case of the innocent.

Whatever he chose to do with his life...

He could make a mark on this world...

If he only had a chance!

But now he's imprisoned in an institution...

His crime?

Cerebral Palsy

Need that be a life sentence?

Need it seclude him for the rest of his life?

Need it deprive him of learning and love?

No indeed!

But this it has done...

He needs someone to set him free!

He's imprisoned unjustly through no fault of his own...

The light on his face is gone!

Deprived of love and learning...

His mind is rotting and wasting away...

For lack of something to do!

Oh I'd love to see the joy on his face...

The light of laughter and love...

When at last he is cherished for the treasure he is...

And becomes someone's much beloved son!

What a difference this love will make in his life...

Is a story that's waiting to be told!

Could it be...

Could it POSSIBLY be...

That this dear little boy could be yours?

Or maybe perhaps his Mama you know!

Please share and please pray...

So that someday soon...

Dear Colin will be free at last!

Basking in the love of his own Mom and Dad...

With a sparkle in his eyes!

I wish that you could see...

Sweet Janna dear, I see you...

Laying in your little crib...

With sunshine on your feet.

It's shining from a window...

But...

Have you ever been outside?

Have you seen the sun that sparkles on the dew drops in the morning?

Have you seen it shimmer on the water of a lake?

Have you ever seen the pretty flowers...

Or a flitting butterfly?

Have you felt the gentle breezes blowing softly through your hair?

Or touched a kitty's soft soft fur?

Oh Janna...

If only you could see and feel these lovely, things!

What a blessing it would be!

For God has made these lovely things to bring you joy...

And show His love for you!

And there are many, many other things I wish for you sweet child.!

But here are just a few of the most important ones!

I wish that you could see your Mama's face...

And feel her gentle hug!

I wish that you could see how big and strong your Daddy is...

And know that he will keep you safe...

For that's what Daddy's do!

I hope, hope, HOPE that very soon...

These pleasures you'll enjoy...

For Janna dear...

YOU are a treasure too...

A blessing to behold!

Your Mom and Dad just don't know yet...

The blessing they are missing!

They'll have a front row seat to watch you grow and bloom...

To see just what amazing things their love will do for you!

I hope your Mom and Dad will see you soon...

And that there hearts won't rest...

Until they have you in their arms...

And you are home at last!

And what a bonus it will be to see your lovely face...

As they show you God's big, big world...

And the many lovely things He's made...

To tell you of his love!

*****

Janna is in danger of being transferred to an institution where she will likely be bedridden for life...

Boredom will fill her days...

She will miss the many beautiful things that we take for granted...

And she will miss the love that having a family would bring...

Is she missing you?

Could you be her family?

If so - Go for it!

If not - consider sharing her story to help her family find her!

Bright Future Possible! Teamwork Tuesday - Dmitry

Quiet...

Affectionate...

Gets along well with others...

Enjoys learning...

High functioning!

What wonderful potential sweet Dmitry has...

If only he receives the wonderful gift of a family!

A family to give him love...

Encouragement...

And the opportunity to learn and thrive and grow...

So he can reach his full potential!

Can't you see him full of life with an eager smile on his face...

When he opens his first birthday present and finds a toy dump truck?

Can you see him sliding down the slide...

And running in the yard with his very own puppy?

Can you see him learning to catch a ball with loving coaching from his Papa?

Can you see him enjoying a piece of grandma's apple pie...

Or helping grandpa plant his garden?

Can you see him relaxing with a story read by his very own Papa?

Or snugging with his Mama?

What a wonderful future this lovely boy could have!

Sadly, sweet Dmitry is still waiting for his Mama and Papa to find him...

He's waiting to be chosen...

Waiting, waiting, waiting...

How long must he wait for the simple joy and security of belonging to a family?

How long must he wait for a hug from his Papa or snuggles with Mama?

It depends on when his family finds him...

Perhaps they have not yet seen his face...

Perhaps they do not yet know he is waiting!

Poor little boy!

He needs us to shout for him...

To share his sweet face...

So that hopefully soon a Mama and Papa will see it...

And choose to make him their own!

You can read Dmitry's profile here!

Left behind with broken heart... Oh please don't let it be!

I thought surely no one would want me...

For my legs are not working you see...

What Mama or Papa would ever...

Want a little boy like me...

A boy who cannot walk or run...

Why surely they'd think he was no fun...

They'd think me worthless or so I thought...

Until one day a Mama came...

To my own orphanage!

She came to get a little girl...

And take her home with her!

This little girl is kind of like me...

She also cannot walk and yet...

A Mama came for her!

Do you suppose there's hope for me?

Is it possible that there just might be...

A Mom and Dad for me?

*****

Oh how I'd love to have a Mom and Dad...

Who'd look inside of me...

And see that though my legs don't work...

I do indeed have the most important part...

A heart that longs for love...

And a mind to think and understand...

I'll know if I am left behind...

I'll feel it in my very heart...

I think my heart will even break...

If no one comes for me!

*****

That Mama took some pictures...

Of my friends and I...

She said she'd try to find us Mom's and Dad's!

A tiny hope crept into my heart...

I was almost ready to cry at the thought...

That someone just MIGHT come for me!

*****

One by one my friends have been chosen...

Their Mama's found them what a joy!

They'll soon be going home!

But oh how great will be my grief...

When one by one those Mama's come...

And take my friends away...

Oh then I'll know my fears were true...

And though my friends have Mom's indeed...

No one's chosen me!

*****

I'll soon be left behind!

I don't know how I'll get along...

But I guess I'll just have to face the facts...

That it was just as I had thought...

Yes no one wants a boy like me...

My fears indeed were true!

*****

My friends have not left just quite yet...

Do you suppose before they do...

A Mom and Dad could choose me too?

If only when their Mama's come...

They could bring the news...

That a Mom and Dad will come for me...

As soon as the paperwork's done!

That news would save my anxious heart...

From breaking right in two!

Please will you be my Mama?

I need a Daddy too...

Please don't leave me here alone...

When my friends go home!

To read Marcus' profile click here!

You can read what Renee (the Mama who met him) wrote about him at...

PS - It is likely that Marcus' friends' parents will not be able to tell him that he has a family even if one has chosen him by then (see Renee's post)...But that doesn't change the fact that he needs a family to choose him ASAP...  His tender heart will be so hurt and dejected when he realizes that ALL of his friends that asked for a family have been chosen and he's been left behind!  If you are in a position to adopt please consider Marcus!

Such a Long, LONG time! Forget-Me-Not Friday - Emmitt

14+ years...

168+ months...

728+ weeks...

5040+ days...

120,960+ hours...

7,257,600+ minutes...

435,456,000+ seconds...

How much longer till my Mom sees my picture?

How long till my Dad knows I'm his?

Will I be here forever?

Will no one claim me?

14 years is too long...

Much MUCH too long to wait for a family!

But more dreadful than this...

I have less than 2 years...

Till it's forever too late...

Till I age out of the system...

And lose all hope for a home!

Then I'll learn what forever means...

Forever institutionalized with no hope of release...

Oh forever is MUUUUUUCCCHHHHH too long to live in this miserable place!

Please, PLEASE don't forget me...

I've waited SOOOOO long!

Will you be my family?

Will you share my face?

Will you pray for me?

Your prayers and shares make a difference!

Please don't forget me!

If a picture is worth one thousand words...

What are THREE pictures  and THREE videos worth?

(***Update Sept. 2012 - Yet another updated picture at the end of this post!***)

Especially to a darling little boy...

Who waits for a family?

I hope they're enough to show his family how precious he is!

Meet Carlton!

He is not only charming and handsome...

He is also very smart!

He's not yet 5 years old...

But does school work at a 7-8 year old level!!!!

He loves to recite poems!

Here is a short video of him saying a nursery rhyme...

The ending is so cute!

I'm not certain exactly what his physical limitations are...

But he's practicing his walking!

We even have a video showing his efforts in action!

Can you guess what this darling boy wants most of all?

He is longing and dreaming of a family of his own...

He ASKS when they will come...

And he ALMOST got his wish...

He had a family who planned to bring him home...

They even sent him gifts...

Here is a video of him opening them...

Clearly they loved him very much...

But sadly they were unable to adopt him...

So he still waits...

Even worse...

He will be TRANSFERRED before too long...

Imagine this darling, sweet, very smart boy having to endure a mental institute for life!

It just cannot be!!!!

He has to have a family out there somewhere!

Pray his Mom and Dad will see his darling pictures...

And KNOW that he is their son!

That God will open the way and he can come home soon...

And NEVER have to go to the institution!
