Happy Birthday Wendy! | Reece's Rainbow Waiting Child

Happy Birthday to a Special Little Girl!

Well loved...

An orphanage favorite...

Sweet Wendy is 7 years old today (June 25)!

(Though since it's evening here it's probably June 26 in her country now...)

But her birthday is not such good news for her...

It means the day is drawing ever closer...

To a very frightening day...

The day she is transferred to a mental institution...

The day she'll leave her favorite nannies.

In the institution she probably will no longer be a favorite...

She has a big chance of being bedridden and ignored...

Left alone with her thoughts with very little stimulation...

Oh sweet girl...

What a sad day that will be for you...

But will anyone notice?

Will anyone know?

It's time to shout for you...

It's time to tell the world that you are waiting...

It's time for your Mama and Papa to see you...

It's time for you to be chosen and loved...

Time to go home where the threat of the institution can be removed...

Home where you can learn what it's like to have forever love...

And a family of your very own!

I hope that day comes soon!

I hope next June 25 you can celebrate your 8th birthday with your very OWN family!

Never forget you are special...

No matter what anyone tells you!

You are a child of God...

Your life matters...

You are special!

Imagine Your Son! | Reece's Rainbow Waiting Child - Oberon

Sweet little Oberon sounds like such a lovely child!

Just listen to all the great qualities he possesses!

Social...

Friendly...

Outgoing...

Playful...

Sweet...

Active...

Helpful...

Lively...

Peaceful...

PERFECT!

(OK, I added the last one...

But don't you agree?)

He sounds like he would be a delight to a family...

A son you could be proud of...

A child who would bless your life if you had opportunity to be around him!

Sweet little Oberon faces two big challenges though...

One he has stage 4 deafness and cannot hear what others are saying...

And two, he has no family to make sure he has the opportunity to learn other ways off communication such as sign language...

He lives in a nearly silent world...

(It is possible that he can hear very loud sounds.)

But while he can't hear your voice...

He could see your smile...

Feel your hugs...

Learn sign language...

Learn to read...

Go to school...

Be a son, brother, grandson, and nephew...

If he only had the chance...

Please pray and consider...

If perhaps sweet Oberon could be your son!

Can you see him in your family picture?

Can you see him sitting at supper at your family table?

Can you see him playing in the sandbox with your other children?

Can you feel his good night hugs?

Can you hear his peaceful sigh...

When he feels safe at last?

Can you see his satisfaction when he learns to communicate what's in his heart and mind?

Imagine...

Your sweet son!

He's waiting for you!

Penelope's Potential | Reece's Rainbow Waiting Child

Some might say she is hopeless...

For how could she ever learn...

When she cannot hear...

And her vision is poor...

What hope could their possibly be?

But all is not lost...

She still has a key...

To learn about her world!

See her sweet little hand?

Far more than just a handy tool...

It is her key to knowledge...

The way she learns about her world!

Though she cannot hear the birds singing in the trees...

Or hear when someone calls her name...

Or hear her friends if they whisper secrets in her ears...

She can feel a kitten's soft fur...

A mama's soft cheek...

A daddy's rough chin whiskers...

She can feel the grass as it tickles her little feet...

She can feel warm bath water and a snugly towel...

Her sense of touch is her key to the world!

But she needs another key to maximize her potential...

What is this key you ask?

A Mom and Dad who believe in her...

A Mom and Dad to make sure she gets the education, therapy and schooling she needs...

A Mom and Dad to let her know how very special she is...

And that she can achieve great things with love and perseverance!

After all, Helen Keller, who was not only deaf, but completely blind as well...

Learned to speak and read braille...

Graduated from collage...

Received honorary doctoral degrees from multiple universities including Harvard...

Gave lectures, wrote articles...

Was a political activist...

Traveled the world...

Received medals...

And was in the Women's Hall of Fame!

(You can read more about Helen Keller HERE.)

Penelope has potential...

It just needs to be unlocked!

Who will be her Mom and Dad?

Who will give her an opportunity to be all that she can be?

Please consider Penelope and share her story with others!

You can read more about Penelope on her Reece's Rainbow profile HERE...

Longing to Belong | Reece's Ranbow Waiting Children with Albinism

I have a longing in my heart...

For a Mom and Dad who see...

Not the difference of my skin color...

Or the dimness of my vision...

I need parents who can look beneath my outside looks...
(I'm really not that different am I?)

Oliver

And see that deep inside of me...

Is a heart like every other child...

A heart that LONGS for LOVE...

A heart that is just waiting to THRIVE..

When surrounded by a family's love!

Oh I long for a family of my own!

Can I belong to you?

Albinism is only skin deep...

We are just like you inside!

Please see our hearts!

Abandoned at 6 years old... | Wesley - Reece's Rainbow Waiting Child

Imagine that you are 6 years old...

You probably think you are pretty "big"...

You feel like you are growing up...

But you still love to play with your friends...

Your biggest stresses are when your brother takes your toy...

Or the neighbor boy calls you names...

Or you get teased at school...

But other than that life is good!

When mealtime comes the food is always there...

You always have clothes to wear...

And a warm bed to sleep in...

You don't have to worry about any of the "big" stuff like rent, income, or bills the adults have to worry about...

Your parents have you covered!

At least that's how it's supposed to be...

Meet Wesley...

At SIX years old he was ABANDONED...

Imagine how scary that must have been!

I don't know whether he was dropped off at an orphanage or just put out on the street or left at a train station...

But whatever the case it must have been VERY scary...

I'm hungry...

Where can I find some food?

It's cold...

Where shall I sleep?

All I see are strangers...

Who can help me?

Why didn't they want me?

Does the color of my skin...

Or the fact that I can't see well...

Make me less lovable?

Did I embarrass them because I don't look like the rest of the family?

I have a heart and feelings just like everyone else...

How is a little boy supposed to make it on his own?

I don't know what to do!

I need someone to guide me...

Someone to love me...

Someone to show me how to be a grownup...

And give me time to be a child...

At this time sweet Wesley is being cared for...

He enjoys playing with the other kids where he lives...

But he doesn't have a family of his own...

It's been nearly 7 years since he was abandoned...

He was listed for adoption 5 years ago...

But still he waits...

In August he will be 13 years old....

That means he has just over a year to be adopted...

When he turns 14 it will be too late according to his country's rules...

But we can't let this sweet boy grow up thinking he is unlovable...

We can't let him live out his life alone!

In his country he will not be accepted because he looks different than the other people...

It is very sad!

He has so much potential!

He could go to college...

He could get a job...

He could be whatever he'd like to be...

If he has someone to believe in him...

Someone to guide him...

To teach him how to be a successful adult!

He could be a neighbor...

He could be a friend...

He could be a cousin...

He could be a grandson...

He could be a brother...

He could be YOUR son!

Please consider Wesley!

Will you be the one to give him a chance?

Will you be the one to show him how valuable he is?

Will you be the one to tell him he'll always belong to your family...

That your family will be HIS family FOREVER?

You can read post Wesley's prayer warrior has written about him HEREHERE and HERE.

You can read more about Wesley on his Reece's Rainbow profile HERE.

You can learn more about the adoption process HERE.

And if you can't adopt at this time...

Don't despair!

You can still help Wesley by praying for him, sharing his story with others, or donating to his adoption grant fund (here).  Donations are tax-deductible in the US.
