New information about Ryan!!! Also Urgent Prayer Requests!

I just found more information on sweet Ryan from someone who volunteered at his orphanage for a while. She met him and gave him love and attention while he was there. She has posted more pictures of him, and wow, he really needs a family ASAP! He is SOOO painfully thin. His eyes are so sad:( Please pray for him and donate to his grant fund if you can!

Please also pray for his country (which I cannot name). It is about to undergo a restructuring of the adoption process. Much prayer is needed that the process goes quickly so that adoptions can proceed (adoptions will be ON HOLD during the process). Also it is important to pray that the decisions made during this restructuring will be in the best interest of the children, otherwise some children who were available for international adoption will have to wait until they are 5 years old to be adopted by foreign families. Some of these children have almost no chance of being adopted in there own country because of their special needs. Please read Julia's post where she details the situation and the prayer needs in this urgent situation.

Sparrow of the Week - Ryan

In keeping with my blog title, I'd like to start choosing a sparrow (child) to feature each week. God sees and cares for the little birds, not ONE can fall without his notice. His children are of much more value than the sparrows -- so I know he sees and loves them all. How His heart must hurt as his sees His children suffer and languish alone. I hope these blog posts can be an inspiration, and help to raise support, love, and families for these lonely ones.

Today I've chosen Ryan. He looks so sweet, yet so sad and forlorn:( I'd love to see him smile and blossom in a loving family, wouldn't you? Won't you join me in praying that his family finds him soon? If you are able, please consider donating to his adoption grant fund to ease the financial burden of his adoption!

To see before & after pictures of the difference adoption can make in a child's life check out this post about sweet Bohdan and the difference adoption has made in his life.

Here is some information about Ryan.

Ryan

Boy, born January 2007

We finally have medical information for sweet Ryan!

Ryan has Noonan's syndrome; and he's diagnosed with organic lesion of the central nervous system as a result of genetic pathology. He has a severe delay of psychological and motor development.

Ryan has a drooping right eyelid, and is farsighted. He also has a congenital heart defect (atrial septal defect), and hypospadias (a birth defect in which the opening of the urethra is on the underside.)

From a volunteer who spent several months at this orphanage:

According to the workers, Ryan has a life-shortening illness which is preventing his organs from growing and developing as they should however I have had no way to confirm that. What I can say is that he is tiny and I would be surprised if weighs even 15 pounds. This tiny little boy captured my heart from the first time I saw him. He does not interact much but sometimes you can get him to smile. He is capable of pulling himself up at the side of the crib but he mostly stays sitting or lying down and is usually banging his head on the side of the crib. He resists being held but over time he warmed up to me, wanting me to hold him when he was sick and occasionally he would even make his way to the side of the crib when he saw me coming towards him. I also learned that he loves the "airplane game" (being lifted over my head as I was lying on my back) and I even got him laughing on several occasions. Heartbreakingly, Ryan receives no attention from the caregivers and, since being transferred to a new group, he spends most of his days alone in a tiny soft playpen, rocking back and forth. I don't know if what the workers said is true but I do now that, no matter how many days Ryan has left on this earth, he deserves more than the loneliness and neglect he is living right now. Oh how I pray for a family for this sweet angel boy.

Anthony (25)

Anthony (25)
BOY, born August 16, 2005

Anthony has blonde hair and brown eyes. He struggles with the effects of CP, and has also tested positive for TB.

From his medical records: Spastic tetraparesis, motor disorders, convergent squint, hip dysplasia, anemia

His muscles are very tight, and he will need significant amounts of therapy. He is not able to sit by himself, and is dependent on his care givers for just about everything. He has a secondary myocardiopathy as well. Quite a laundry list for such a darling boy ;(( Anthony will be sent to a mental institution, and will remain bedridden the rest of his short life. He is blessed to still be living at the baby house, but he will be transferred in the Spring. Please give Anthony a chance to know a loving, supportive family! Don’t let him end up another statistic :(

SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!
