Abandoned at 6 years old... | Wesley - Reece's Rainbow Waiting Child

Imagine that you are 6 years old...

You probably think you are pretty "big"...

You feel like you are growing up...

But you still love to play with your friends...

Your biggest stresses are when your brother takes your toy...

Or the neighbor boy calls you names...

Or you get teased at school...

But other than that life is good!

When mealtime comes the food is always there...

You always have clothes to wear...

And a warm bed to sleep in...

You don't have to worry about any of the "big" stuff like rent, income, or bills the adults have to worry about...

Your parents have you covered!

At least that's how it's supposed to be...

Meet Wesley...

At SIX years old he was ABANDONED...

Imagine how scary that must have been!

I don't know whether he was dropped off at an orphanage or just put out on the street or left at a train station...

But whatever the case it must have been VERY scary...

I'm hungry...

Where can I find some food?

It's cold...

Where shall I sleep?

All I see are strangers...

Who can help me?

Why didn't they want me?

Does the color of my skin...

Or the fact that I can't see well...

Make me less lovable?

Did I embarrass them because I don't look like the rest of the family?

I have a heart and feelings just like everyone else...

How is a little boy supposed to make it on his own?

I don't know what to do!

I need someone to guide me...

Someone to love me...

Someone to show me how to be a grownup...

And give me time to be a child...

At this time sweet Wesley is being cared for...

He enjoys playing with the other kids where he lives...

But he doesn't have a family of his own...

It's been nearly 7 years since he was abandoned...

He was listed for adoption 5 years ago...

But still he waits...

In August he will be 13 years old....

That means he has just over a year to be adopted...

When he turns 14 it will be too late according to his country's rules...

But we can't let this sweet boy grow up thinking he is unlovable...

We can't let him live out his life alone!

In his country he will not be accepted because he looks different than the other people...

It is very sad!

He has so much potential!

He could go to college...

He could get a job...

He could be whatever he'd like to be...

If he has someone to believe in him...

Someone to guide him...

To teach him how to be a successful adult!

He could be a neighbor...

He could be a friend...

He could be a cousin...

He could be a grandson...

He could be a brother...

He could be YOUR son!

Please consider Wesley!

Will you be the one to give him a chance?

Will you be the one to show him how valuable he is?

Will you be the one to tell him he'll always belong to your family...

That your family will be HIS family FOREVER?

Prayed for boys!

Today I'm sharing two special boys with you!

Meet Heath and Wesley!

The two newest guests at Emmitt's party!

First Heath...

Lonely, lonely life...

That's what Heath has :(

Many 10 year old boys would find it terribly boring to sit through an hour-long adult meeting that they don't understand...

They'd so much rather be out running and playing...

Riding bikes...

Playing ball with friends...

Sitting still can be torturous when there's nothing to do!

Well Heath doesn't just sit for an hour...

He sits ALL DAY LONG (whenever he isn't in bed)...

He sits in a wheelchair that he shares with another child...

He sits in a shed with no toys...

With nothing to look at at but what he can see out the door of his shed, and the bare walls...

And benches and carpets filled with other miserable boys rocking, moaning, groaning...

Hitting themselves, biting themselves, scratching themselves for lack of something to do...

Anything to bring some kind of stimulation in their dull and boring lives :(

What's even worse...

Heath has no hope of anything better...

UNLESS a family comes to take him from his miserable surroundings...

And give him home, love, and opportunity to learn that there is SO MUCH MORE to life...

Than monotonous, endless days in a shed!

The GOOD thing is...

Heath is loved by many people!

Fundraisers have been held...

And Heath has an adoption grant fund with over TWENTY THOUSAND dollars in it!

This will cover the vast majority of the expenses for the family that chooses to adopt him!

What's more a family met him 2 years ago...

They saw Heath with their own eyes...

They caught a glimpse of his miserable life...

And they wrote moving posts about him...

Now for dear Wesley!

Sweet Wesley was ABANDONED when he was 6 years old :(

Imagine how that must make him feel!

I'm not wanted...

I'm not worth anything to my family...

They don't like me...

I'm worthless :(

Despite his heartbreaking rejection by his family...

Wesley is described as gentle, polite, and sensitive...

He enjoys playing with others...

He likes stories, games, balls, and toy cars...

He is a very normal little boy...

Who will thrive in a family!

After waiting for 6 long years (he's 12 now)...

Imagine what it would mean to him to find out that he is loved and valued for who he is...

That he will always have a home...

That his parents and siblings love to have him around...

And can't imagine life without him in it!

He's waiting for that love and assurance!

Waiting for a family to choose him!

They are blessed to have a prayer warrior and advocate, Sandra, who brought them to Emmitt's party!

While Heath has a very large grant...

Which makes his adoption nearly fully funded...

(He just needs a family!)

Wesley's adoption fund is relatively small...
