I'm re-posting this for Jane - She's about to go visit Bobby in his institution!!!  She has the wonderful opportunity of personally visiting and helping the children!!!

Music for Bobby! Please Re-Post!

My trip is very soon to that 'remote institution' that is Bobby's home.

You can help! I need your help!

Thank God my path has led me to the amazing work of 'The Happy Child Foundation'. 
These are the people who will try to open doors for me to see the children and find ways to 
help. Visit here  to see the amazing work they are doing.

So as I make plans to leave I quickly realise that I simply cannot go empty handed! 
The dilemma... I don't really have the finances for the trip itself,  let alone to arrive 
armed with gifts and much needed items!!

So here is where you can help and I pray that you will!!

In the lead up to valentines day, our celebration of love,

I need a 2 week fund raising miracle!

Can we bring about a TRUE LOVE VALENTINE MIRACLE for these children?

Could you spare the money you would spend on a card or a rose or a meal for 2

for the children of 50?

 Albert Pavlov...founder of the foundation in initial contacts has told me the children

really need musical instruments and writing/art supplies! So a shopping trip together

when I arrive is planned before we visit! But without your help it will simply be
'window shopping'! Can you help me build a pot of money for this shopping trip to bring
music and art to the children at orphanage 50? It will be hand-picked equipment by 
people who knowwhat is really needed and useful and then hand delivered. Can you help?

I remember the excitement of being a child and the instruments being brought out of 
the classroom cupboard...do you? Could we bring moments like this to these children so 

desperate  for their days to have something within them apart from the same 4 walls and 

the bars of a cot!

The Happy Child Foundation can take pay pal donations through this link  at Eleanors Kids, 
its sister charity in theUSA... http://deti.zp.ua/eng/paypal.php  donations here can be 
collected into a pot of money to shop with when I arrive. If you do donate you will need to 
say at the point of your donation what your money is for. Please make sure you say it's for
'Music and Art for Bobby'. This will ensure the money is kept separate and available 
to spend when I get there with the full support of the 'Happy Child Foundation ' staff to 
ensure that only the most appropriate equipment possible is purchased!

I would also love enough funds to stock the institution in nappies for a week!

One trip by the Happy Child Foundation delivering nappies!

It costs $150 a day for nappies! $150 x7...Could we manage this as well? Lack of nappies, 

bed sores and the repercussions of this unacceptable situation must be unbearable for the 

children and the staff trying to care for them...could we help? Again just donate on the link

Bring some sunshine into the lives of the children at Orphanage 50! Not only the nine

You can write a letter to a child and send a care package...

You can help save an orphan from the horrors of life on the streets when he/she ages out of the orphanage by donating to help put a child through college...

So they can get a job and become a productive citizen of their country!

(For only $68 dollars per month a child can go to college!)

The Clock is Ticking!

Laurel...

While Laurel has had less than ideal circumstances in her life...

(She was born with arthrogryposis...

A condition that makes some of her joints stiff...)

And NOTHING can compare to the blessing of having a loving family of her own...

She has been blessed more than many special needs orphans!

Despite the fact that she is already 15 years old...

She does NOT live in a mental institute...

YET.

She and her orphan companions live in a facility for older children with physical disabilities...

But her orphanage has received aid from various humanitarian groups!

Instead of being completely confined in the orphanage...

Children have had opportunity to go on trips!

Sadly, Laurel's comparatively good life...

Is about to end.

Laurel will turn 16 in less than six months...

This is NOT a birthday to look forward to!

At 16 Laurel will be too old for adoption...

And she will have to go to an adult mental institution because of her PHYSICAL disabilities!

And she will have to live there...

For the REST of her life!

A LIFE sentence...

At 16 years old!

The time when she should be excited about growing up...

Working on high school...

Looking forward to college...

To getting a job...

To the possibility of being a mother someday.

Instead...

A life of nothingness...

A bleak, bleak future indeed.

It does NOT have to be this way!

There IS hope!

If her family finds her SOON...

She can be adopted...

And have a life of love and opportunity!

But their is no time to lose!

The clock is ticking...

Time is passing by...

Fundraiser Giveaway for Silas!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone!

This is going to be short because I really have to study for my classes...

But I wanted to tell you that good things are happening for Silas!


Sweet Silas is an intelligent little boy who has been relegated to a mental institute because of his cerebral palsy and he really needs a family!  He needs to get out of the institution and into a home where he can grow and blossom and become all that he can be!


Silas is blessed because Steph,saw his sweet face, and determined that he must be rescued!  She has planned a great giveaway to raise money for his adoption grant fund!

The more money that is raised, the easier it will be for a family to go rescue him!

You can help by making a donation of any size, and by sharing the giveaway with as many people as possible - blogs, facebook, twitter... they all help!  You never know which of your friends may be able to help - who knows, maybe one of them could be Silas' Mom or Dad!

Help Them Join the Club!

Here is Sharing Sunday post number 2!

I wanted to tell you about a neat fundraiser that Jenny is doing over at Zero the Zeros!

Jenny has a heart for the big kids at Reece's Rainbow!

She noticed many children who were 6 years old or older...

Who had $0 dollars in their grant funds...

And she set out to make a change!

Her first goal was to get rid of all those zeros!

And she has been successful!

All the children ages 6 and older that have grant funds now have at least a little money in their funds!

Isn't that great!

But Jenny is not stopping yet!

She has set a new goal!

That goal is for each child ages 6 and up to have at least $20 in their grant fund by Easter!

It's a big job - but very possible if we all help!

Can you help at least one child join Jenny's $20 club?

Heal Her Heart!

I had a different post in mind for sharing Sunday...

But  then I saw this sweet girl...

And her sad story...

And I just had to tell you about her!

This is beautiful Carissa...

Because of her premature birth she had vision problems...

She and her twin sister were placed in an orphanage together when they were newborns...

They stayed there for some time...

Then their aunt took them to live with her.

Unfortunately Carissa did not receive necessary medical care and lost what vision she had. 

After staying with their aunt for 3 years the girls were placed in an orphanage again (when they were 6 years old).

At some point the girls were separated...

Because Carissa is blind she had to go to a different orphanage than her sister ...

Her sister has since been adopted....

Poor Carissa was so lonely....

She lost the one person who had been with her her whole life...

She was in shock at the drastic changes in her life and regressed significantly...

The internat staff thought she was unable to talk or move...

From her profile...

"Before going to the internat she was walking by the hand, reacted to outside world and recognised people.   Not only did she talk, but she was singing! Now she had no motivation to sing, to move, to talk.  The girl refused food.  During four months in internat she literally become a skeleton."

From a happy, singing girl to a SKELETON!

Too heartbroken and depressed to eat!

Poor, poor child!

Carissa has since been taken to a city for medical help and has improved to the point of sitting up and eating some... 

But she cannot walk because of weakness...

Sweet Carissa...

Desperately needs a family to love her...

To make her their own...

To heal her broken heart...

And restore her joy...

So she will have the heart to sing again!

How do you know?

How do you know when you are growing up?

What lets you know you are maturing?

Is it the birthdays coming year by year...

Or is it...

Learning to ride a bike...

The first day of school...

or learning to read?

Is it when Mom lets you stay up an hour longer with the grown-ups when the little ones have to go to bed?

Is it that first after school job of raking the neighbor's leaves...

or graduating from 8th grade...

or the first day of high school?

The milestones met one by one...

Should make you feel more and more grown up!

But what would happen if you were deprived of the opportunity to meet these common milestones?

What would happen if you sat in a crib day after day...

Long after you had outgrown it?

What if you had no opportunity to even start school...

[Because your LEGS (not your mind) didn't work right!]

When you should be finishing 8th grade...

Or starting high school?

Would you feel that same sense of "growing up?"

If your birthdays were unnoticed...

Each day passing with monotony and sameness...

With nothing to occupy your mind or engage your curiosity...

No new responsibilities to challenge you and make you feel grown up...

What would that be like?

Instead of looking forward to your 16th birthday in a couple years...

When you could get your driver's license...

Your16th  birthday would be a day to look forward to with dread...

It would be the end of hope for you...

No more chance or opportunity to have a family...

To get an education...

Or a job when you grew up?

Can you imagine?

I can't...

Sweet, intelligent Emmitt is in this situation!

Today is his Birthday...

He's 14 today!

He's been waiting far too long...

I don't know what learning opportunities he may have had as a young child in a baby house...

But he has now been in a mental institution (because his LEGS don't work well!) for many years...

Deprived of a loving family...

Deprived of education...

Deprived of therapy...

Deprived of the opportunity to meet those milestones...

That would make him feel grown up!

At 14 years old...

He should be looking forward to starting high school soon...

But instead he sits in a baby's bed...

Waiting for someone to see his potential...

And get him out of there!

And give him the opportunity to grow into a man...

Is there any way you could be his Mom or Dad?

If not, could you share his story...

Pray for him...

And add even a few dollars to his grant fund?

In two years dear Emmitt will be too old to be adopted...

Without hope of release from the institution...

Without hope of a life of opportunity...

In bed for the rest of his life...

Let's not let that happen!
